Description: I remember the first time I met "the King." It was Cincinnati, 1963, right after a screening at The Albee of "It Happened at the World's Fair." My compadres were in town from New York, so I wanted to impress them with our hip music scene. We wandered up to the Over-the-Rhine to a little jazz club called, Schwartz's Point, pushed my way through several large men, and stepped up to the bar. I thought it odd this handsome pompadoured man had a bevy of large men and beautiful women around him, but when he turned around and asked me, "What's your poison, baby?" and gave me that infamous side smile, I knew I had a brush with greatness. We laughed, we cried, we talked for hours on end, and then, he was gone. 52 years later, we knew we had to make this beer, in remembrance of that fateful evening. This dark, copper hued ale blends a hint of peanut butter, a touch of honey and a note of sweet banana with a crisp, rich, malty backbone to deliver a liquid (and much less messy) version of the King’s signature sandwich. Malt: Pilsner, Munich, Carafa Hops: German Perle ABV: 5.9% IBU: 28 SRM: 19 Speciality: Peanut Butter, Banana & Honey Flavoring
