Description: For the first beer in our series with Demondance, we’ve teamed up with two of the North-East’s finest brewing talents in the shape of Alpha Delta and Full Circle to put together this punchy Session IPA brimming with flavour at levels that defy the lower ABV of the beer. This was a recipe of two parts. Firstly we built a robust base with a particularly resinous hop bill to contribute to this, and secondly we went big on a dry hop that brings a riot of tropical fruit character over the top. For the grist we went heavy on the oats along with a touch of flaked wheat and some dextrin malt, all of which contribute in various ways to delivering a thicker, hazier and smoother low-strength pale base. For hot side hopping, we went with a west coast classic in Centennial which brings sticky marmalade and zingy grapefruit to the mix alongside the intense all-round flavours of Strata, who’s passion fruit and pine notes really come through when used in this context. For the dry hop we went big and fruity, as combination of Mosaic, Idaho 7 and Talus bring big overripe mango, pineapple, cantaloupe melon and pink grapefruit to the fore.
