Description: This is not your average mead. It is not flavored, sweetened and processed to appease the masses. Our mead is a tribute to the classic, my interpretation of the beverage that the Norse explorers would have made. We take that interpretation and deconstruct it so that we are able to reconstruct it as more than just the mead. It's about our own "heritage" where owner and meadmaker Peter Voelker is a direct descendant of King Harald Farhair (depicted on the label). Fermented to fruition until the yeast perish of their own doing, oak aged and full of natural honey flavor. I have forgone the usual wine competitions and tastings for my mead. I will not allow a panel of judges to swirl, sniff and sip just to tell me how great it is. I already know there is no better. 17% ABV
