Description: August West Barrel Brokers is a barrel-aged pastry stout brewed in collaboration with our friends at The Bruery. One of the first beers ever crafted at our NW facility, this stout has been quietly aging in bourbon and rye barrels for a long, languid 28 months. We kept this one beautifully simple, adding only toasted pecans and vanilla beans and letting time do the rest. The pecan flavors really shine, accentuated - but not overpowered - by the superb aroma of bourbon and a hint of rye spiciness. Even with its formidable 14.1% abv, the years have mellowed any alcohol burn, leaving a silky sweet finish that brings to mind the richness of a velvety nut butter.
