Description: Bud Hedrick was a man that made a difference and mattered to a lot of people. Bud, and his family, decided to take a shot and give a startup brewery a chance in Asheboro, a town that was dry for 50+ years. He didn't see a brewery as a way to degenerate a community. Rather, through his experiences in World War II in Germany, he saw how a brewery can bring a community together and raise it up. He understood that a city without a brewery was almost like a room without books. Bud passed away in late 2019. In his honor, we have rechristened our German Wheat Ale as Hedrick's Hefeweizen German Wheat Ale and our good friend, and his neighbor, Rich Powell, created a fine commemorative can label. You can watch Rich talk about the label design here: http://bit.ly/2SuqYCv. The German Hefeweizen exemplifies quite a dichotomy in craft beer. This style demonstrates that not all is as it seems. The lightness in color masks the intensity of the flavor. The esters and clove aromas and flavors accentuate that you cannot judge a beer by its color alone.
