Description: Trying to write a beer description for COFFEE&MILK; IPA without littering it with tasteless Viper Room analogies and cliché references to the D.A.R.E. program is much harder than we anticipated. So instead let's just break it down in a straight forward manner. As strange as it sounds, we find lots of similarities between light roast coffee and hops, so we teamed up with Chocolate Fish Coffee Roasters in Sacramento to create a blend of beans that would match the profiles from some of our favorite hops. With notes of orange marmalade, Asian pear, peaches, and a bright stone fruit-like acidity, we felt this coffee was the perfect pairing for a blend of some of our favorite hops. To mellow out the added bitterness from the coffee we added plenty of milk sugar, providing a creamy body and aiding in melding the flavor profile between hops flowers and coffee beans. The similar flavor profiles end up assisting each other like Stockton and Malone, creating even bolder notes of orange, peach, pear, and lemon. COFFEE&MILK; is a coffee beer that is refreshing instead of being rich, bright and fruity instead of dark and roasty; so be efficient, order a COFFEE&MILK; IPA, and get both vices in one glass.
