Description: We took a blend of year old Biere de Garde and East Bank fermented and aged in neutral French oak wine barrels and transferred it to a fresh Plantation XO rum barrel we used in collaboration with Finn's Manor in Denver. The fruity notes from the base beer are slightly overpowered by the rum and subtle oak flavors we got from the barrel. A taste of what's to come with the future of our non-fruited specialty cask-aged beers! Notes from Thomas at Finn's about the barrel: "It's a mix of column and pot still rum made in Barbados and aged in Bourbon casks for 12-20 years. The casks are then shipped to France where the rum is transferred to French oak for 12 to 18 months finishing. The cask you got is the French oak finishing cask."
