Description: This Double IPA, named after the original name of our little city features Bravo, Summit, and Warrior hops. Like Pop Whiting did when he ditched his freight train in what would eventually become Whiting, we took a calculated risk in using a unique approach to a heavily hopped American Double IPA. Instead of a traditional grainbill featuring mostly 2-row pale malt, we put our own spin on the style and used white wheat as the majority grain. This results in a softer, slightly sweeter malt character that allows the hops to shine through. A strong presence of citrus flavors and aroma are present with a strong grapefruit juice taste created by the combination of the sweetness of the malt and the citrus flavored high alpha acid hops.
