Description: Mottainai Sake Beer. Mottainai (もったいない) is a Japanese term that conveys a sense of regret with regards to waste - for example, the expression "Mottainai!" is an exclamation for when something useful, such as food or time, is wasted, translating roughly as "What a waste!". This beer is a unique collaboration; a bringing together of two brewing methods, beer and sake. A base beer was produced then kasu from our friends at Kanpai, added to ferment the sugars. Kasu, the "waste" product from brewing Sake contains rice, live yeast and koji. Bringing unique umami (savoury) and citrus notes, unfiltered, the beer has an orange hue and a dry finish.
