The base beer was selected from multiple barrels that previously held outstanding spirits, including George Dickel Rye, Buffalo Trace Bourbon and Woodford Reserve Bourbon, and the sweet, caramelized character of the Imperial Stout base called for the vanilla-coconut finishing.
