Description: This beer started life as a double IPA aged in bourbon barrels where it was dry-hopped with Chinook hops. It was moved from the barrels and into a closed tank, and blended with a fresh double IPA brewed with Simcoe, Centennial and Mosaic hops. From there it was blended with passionfruit puree at a rate of nearly 8lbs per barrel. The resulting beer is an unusual but intriguing beer, with intense tropical fruit flavors from both the hops and the passionfruit blended with a honey-like barrel flavor, a mild fruity tartness, and a firm DIPA bitterness.
